Le Capriccio Français Summer Music Academy offers a choral workshop which runs from July 12 to July 20 (arrival July 11, departure July 21). The choir is conducted by Philippe Le Fèvre, artistic director of the Music Academy. The Music Academy is situated in the beautiful setting of the Bauges Natural Park (Savoie), in a vacation center on a small lake surrounded by mountains, in the village of Lescheraines.

All choral singers take part in a daily class of vocal technique and Dalcroze eurhythmics, and study a specific program.

Rehearsals take place every day from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 4:45 pm to 7:00 pm. There may also be rehearsals in the evening (8:00 pm to 10:30 pm) and special workshops by 2:30 pm (small ensembles, vocal technique). A one day break is scheduled in mid-session.

Choral singers work with all other Music Academy students (singers and instrumentalists) and faculty members by the end of the session, to prepare the final two concerts. Music Academy students in choral conducting will practice with the choir, in tutti rehearsals as well as in small vocal ensembles.

Choral singers must study the whole program before the beginning of the workshop. Downloadable choral scores are provided free of charge, a few months before the beginning of the Music Academy. Downloadable midi and Sibelius files are available as a support.

The number of choral singers is intentionally limited (28 max.), so that each section of the choir is balanced and everyone has the opportunity to work thoroughly with teachers, on technical and stylistic matters.

Here are the steps to follow for 2012 application:
* Applicants may apply online until February 28.
* In case there should be too many applications (which is often the case for soprani and alti), some applicants may be registered on a waiting list. Acceptance will be confirmed by the end of March.

- Choral singers are expected in Lescheraines on Wednesday afternoon, July 11, and will leave on Saturday morning, July 21.

- Lodging and dining are provided in the vacation center, which is entirely devoted to the practice of music. The vacation center has double bedrooms with private bathroom (single and triple bedrooms may be available on request).

- Tuition fees are 330 euros (scores are included).

- Room and full board are 360 euros for a triple room, 470 euros for double occupancy, 570 euros for a single room. Single bedrooms are located in bungalows, 300 m from the vacation center.
